Some homes feel like they’ve been gently shaped over time, not just renovated, but curated with care, creativity and intention. 40 Chubb Street, Latham is one of those rare homes where architecture, landscape and daily living come together seamlessly.

In our latest love.people feature, Holly Komorowski visits homeowners Phoebe and Tim, two talented architects whose work extends far beyond their front door. Tim is the landscape architect behind Yellow Architecture, and Phoebe is the creative force behind Plot Design Group. Together, they have transformed a humble 1970s home into a sanctuary that reflects their shared design philosophy: thoughtful, grounded and deeply connected to place.

Where design meets living

Set at the end of a quiet battle-axe block, the home immediately offers privacy and a sense of retreat. What unfolds beyond the entry, however, is a beautifully orchestrated sequence of spaces, each shaped by Phoebe and Tim’s professional expertise and lived experience.

Exploring colour, expression and the landscapes behind the view

We recently visited the Belconnen Arts Centre to meet with the wonderfully talented Cassandra Dove, recipient of the home.byholly Capital Arts Patrons Organisation Grant. Her exhibition, Behind the View, adorned the gallery walls over November, a captivating celebration of colour, movement and the quiet moments held within the natural world.

Cassandra is an abstract landscape painter, drawing inspiration from time spent immersed in nature and on her travels. Her works are instantly recognisable: expressive compositions layered with energetic brush strokes, bold palettes, and a tactile richness that invites you to step closer. Each piece feels like a memory alive, vibrant and deeply felt.

“I paint very expressive paintings inspired by time I spend in the natural landscape and travelling. My work is characterised by very vibrant colours, expressive brush marks and texture.”

Selling a home doesn’t always have to start with a loud announcement to the market. More and more, homeowners are choosing to sell quietly, softly, and with intention. At home.byholly, we call this a Whisper Campaign. A considered, design-led approach that begins before your property ever hits the real estate portals.

What is a whisper campaign?

A whisper campaign is a soft launch, sometimes called an off-market campaign. Instead of opening your doors straight away to the entire market, we first speak directly to buyers already known to us. Our team works carefully to nurture relationships with buyers, and that trust translates into an opportunity: often we can introduce a ready buyer from our tangible and extensive database.

Why whisper?

The beauty of a whisper campaign lies in intrigue. We reveal glimpses, not the whole story. Editorial imagery, short-form teaser videos and thoughtful storytelling draw people in, giving them a feel for the lifestyle your home represents without overselling.

In the heart of Braddon—between bold street art, artisan bakeries, and the electric buzz of a Canberra winter—there’s something powerful happening. Something bigger than just business.

Lifeline Canberra has long been the quiet hero behind the scenes. When someone dials 13 11 14, they’re not just calling a number. They’re reaching for help, for connection, for hope. Every answered call is a life-changing moment—and every single one needs funding.

That’s why it’s been so inspiring to see Braddon businesses stepping up—literally.

Over the past month, if you’ve been out and about in Braddon, chances are you’ve seen someone dropping to the pavement or office floor for a burst of push-ups. From footpaths to foyers, local legends have been getting behind the Push-Up Challenge to raise awareness—and critical funds—for Lifeline.

In a video filmed at Raiders HQ, our own Holly Komorowski joined for the final push:

“Elsa has been very diligently, every single day, doing her push-ups to raise funds for Lifeline.
