More Than a Number:
Braddon Businesses Backing Lifeline

In the heart of Braddon—between bold street art, artisan bakeries, and the electric buzz of a Canberra winter—there’s something powerful happening. Something bigger than just business.

Lifeline Canberra has long been the quiet hero behind the scenes. When someone dials 13 11 14, they’re not just calling a number. They’re reaching for help, for connection, for hope. Every answered call is a life-changing moment—and every single one needs funding.

That’s why it’s been so inspiring to see Braddon businesses stepping up—literally.

Over the past month, if you’ve been out and about in Braddon, chances are you’ve seen someone dropping to the pavement or office floor for a burst of push-ups. From footpaths to foyers, local legends have been getting behind the Push-Up Challenge to raise awareness—and critical funds—for Lifeline.

In a video filmed at Raiders HQ, our own Holly Komorowski joined for the final push:

“Elsa has been very diligently, every single day, doing her push-ups to raise funds for Lifeline. And we’re here today just to push into the final week and encourage everybody to find her donation page, sponsor, and get behind a great cause,” Holly said.

“And here we are today, head-to-head with the Raiders!”

You can watch Holly’s full video here.

It’s this kind of community collaboration that brings the Braddon spirit to life. Local businesses are finding creative, visible ways to support mental health—whether that’s push-ups, fundraising, donation drives, or simply starting conversations that matter.

Why this cause matters

Lifeline Canberra answers more than 70,000 calls every year from our region. Each call costs around $39 to answer. That’s why grassroots support from locals and businesses alike makes a real difference—call by call, push-up by push-up.

At home.byholly, we believe in backing causes that reflect our values—connection, compassion, and community. We don’t just sell homes. We connect people to place. And right now, that place is Braddon—and the people are showing up in the best way.

Here’s how you can help:

  • Support businesses like Elliot Gray Recruitment and others who’ve joined the challenge.
  • Sponsor a push-up challenger (Elsa’s page is a great start).
  • Donate directly to Lifeline Canberra—every bit counts.
  • Start a conversation about mental health in your workplace, home, or social circle.

Because when someone reaches out, we should all be close enough to catch them.

Let’s keep lifting each other up. One rep, one donation, one call at a time.

If you or someone you know is struggling, Lifeline is available 24/7 on 13 11 14.
